Hello parents,
Many students are really excited about multiplication. We want to encourage this enthusiasm about math, but we also don't want to forget the somewhat hard to do subtraction. Our goal by the end of second grade is to have the math facts of 1-20 for addition and subtraction learned. The child needs to answer these facts in less than three seconds and without using their fingers. Keep working on these at home!

A muchos estudiantes les llama la atencion hacer la multiplicacion. Queremos seguir animando a los niños de matematicas, pero no queremos olvidar aprender lo dificil que es restar. Nuestra meta para el final del curso es saber las sumas y las restas hasta 20. Los niños tendran que contestar estas sumas y restas en menos de 3 segundos y sin usar sus dedos. Sigan trabajando en estas sumas y restas en casa!
